Assistant People Partner - 12 Month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a talented people professional to come and join us on a 12-month fixed term contract as our Assistant People Partner, reporting into the People Business Partner (HRBP) and supporting our Passenger Services & Commercial directorates.

Our People Business Partnering team play a vital role in coaching and guiding our people leaders as well as embedding talent and development approaches that enable the business to engage, develop and retain key talent, enabling both our people and business to thrive.

This role is a hybrid role, with a blend of working from home, our modern Head Office near London Bridge as well as travelling our network as and when required.

Role Responsibility

  • Supporting the People Business Partner with the delivery of the client groups strategic people plans.
  • Provide guidance and effective challenge to people leaders in your assigned client group to ensure a best-in-class employee experience.
  • Facilitate regular talking talent & team development sessions, upskilling the people leaders in your assigned client group.
  • Work with senior managers to identify high potential (Hi-Po) talent, ensuring development plans are in place to support business continuity.
  • Support the People Business Partner with change projects and facilitating organisational design reviews.
  • Connecting with the wider people team & key stakeholders to embed the people strategy
  • Leading on our employability programme, partnering with key external stakeholders.
  • Working with your key stakeholders to identify organisational capability gaps to accelerate talent development.
  • Support the OD & People Partner with apprenticeships, leadership development and mentoring programme activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of people initiatives and programmes and present the findings.
  • Think ‘What If’ and keep updated with industry trends and changes in the people profession
  • Analyse people data and provide insight

The Ideal Candidate

In addition to previous experience as a HR generalist or people leader, we would love you to apply if you have:

  • A passion for learning & developing others
  • Experience of supporting people change activities
  • Previous experience of partnering with senior managers, with an ability to productively challenge, influence and create brilliant working relationships
  • A customer centric approach to people partnering
  • A desire to challenge the status quo, think what if and make great things happen
  • CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD or similar qualification or experience (desirable)
