Continuous Improvement Manager

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team based from Various Fleet Maintenance Depots.

You will bring colleagues together from across Engineering to design, test and implement business change initiatives. As part of the Quality and Standards Team, you will lead continuous improvement activity, support effective communication and stakeholder engagement, and strengthen the Quality Management System (QMS) by identifying weaknesses and opportunities for improvement. 

You will drive enhancements to business processes, technology and working practices to ensure Engineering meets its KPIs and BPIs, while maintaining compliance with the QMS. Your work will ensure that improvement activity is structured, collaborative and aligned to departmental and organisational objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Engage stakeholders across Engineering to identify and drive positive change in business processes. 
  • Lead PDCA‑based continuous imparovement activity with functional managers.
  • Maintain formal control of processes, work instructions, briefings and documents within the Engineering QMS. 
  • Conduct internal and external audits to support the QMS audit programme, ensuring all participants are informed and prepared. 
  • Identify and manage Corrective Actions, ensuring action owners respond within agreed timescales.
  • Develop and review Engineering KPIs and BPIs with each site, ensuring employees understand their contribution to wider goals. 
  • Coordinate and chair meetings, managing actions, minutes and follow‑up activity. 
  • Support functional teams with documentation development. 
  • Manage approved suppliers through assessment and periodic review as part of the QMS. 
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Quality and Standards Manager.

The experience you’ll need

To be considered for this role we recommend you demonstrate the below in your application;

  • You bring proven experience delivering business change projects, engaging stakeholders and supporting business improvement initiatives.
  • You have strong knowledge of Southeastern’s Fleet Maintenance depots, facilities and working environments, enabling effective process and system improvements. 
  • You hold, or are working towards, ISO9001 Lead Auditor status and have experience in Quality Management and relevant industry standards. 
  • You communicate clearly, confidently and collaboratively, building constructive relationships.
  • You apply strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, using engineering principles and sound judgement to prioritise and drive effective business change. 
  • You demonstrate adaptability, professional influence. 
  • You are flexible to work across depots as needed and can obtain PTS certification.
