Maintenance Delivery Manager

We are seeking a Maintenance Delivery Manasger to join our team based from Ramsgate.

In this role, you will take the lead in shaping and delivering the long-term maintenance strategy for Southeastern’s fleet, ensuring our rolling stock is in the right place at the right time to meet passenger and operational needs. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Planning Team and wider stakeholders to coordinate planned maintenance across our depots, balancing availability, capacity, and service delivery.

Working with both internal teams and external departments, you’ll ensure maintenance plans are aligned with timetable requirements and future developments, while minimising disruption, maximising efficiency, and cost reduction.

  • Lead the delivery of planned and heavy maintenance activities across Southeastern’s fleet, making sure everything runs smoothly and downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Manage all wheel-turning operations, ensuring all work meets their specifications and units are back in service quickly.
  • Act as the key link between Engineering Planning and teams such as ROSCOs, Train Planning, and Passenger Services, making sure maintenance plans align with timetable changes and service needs.
  • Represent Engineering Planning in internal and external stakeholder meetings, sharing updates and feeding back any issues identified.
  • Review plans, track KPIs, investigate non-compliance, and work with others to improve planning systems and associated production activities.
  • Deputise for the Engineering Planning Manager and take on Fleet Recovery Engineer duties as part of the on-call roster.

The experience you’ll need

To be considered for this role we recommend you demonstrate the below in your application;

  • You dare to lead You bring strong leadership and management experience, with a focus on safety, service, and delivery.
  • Railway experienced  With at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role, and have hands-on experience with Southeastern’s rolling stock, including re-railing and operating procedures.
  • Safety-first mindset  You have a good understanding of Loss Control and Modern Safety Management principles.
  • Tech savvy  You’re confident using Microsoft Office software.
  • Qualified & certified  You hold an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent), ILM Level 3, and a current PTS certificate.
  • Customer-focused  You balance business awareness with a strong service ethos.
  • Data-driven  You’ve got solid numerical and analytical skills to support smart decision-making.
  • Influence & collaborate  You’re a skilled communicator who builds strong relationships and gets things done.
