Revenue Management Manager
Job Introduction
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Southeastern Railway as a Revenue Management Manager based at our modern London Bridge Head Office (with hybrid working also an option).
The role will be to be responsible for programming system rules and interpreting data from a new Revenue Management system.
As the lead for this system, you will be expected to create and implement insight-led strategic development plans to grow and measure income from Southeastern’s Advance tickets. This will include analysing our Advance fares offer, and identifying opportunities for driving revenue growth across the network. You will be working collaboratively across the business (and with owning group colleagues) to deliver revenue improvements and data-led recommendations for Revenue Management strategies.

Role Responsibility
Accountabilities and responsibilities for this role include, but will not be limited to:
- Leading Southeastern’s revenue management strategy, with respect to short/medium-term demand/supply planning to increase revenue and formulate strategies for events or exceptional situations that will drive demand.
- Driving optimal income results through effective quota availability strategies and a nuanced and effective approach to train inventory revenue management.
- Ensuring Rail Availability and Reservations Service (RARS) and Revenue Management System (RMS) are maintained and optimised for Advance tickets, to deliver revenue targets.
- Developing yield and journey forecasts and targets, ensuring that any negative variances to targets are effectively addressed.
- Be responsible for the integrity of the Revenue Management System with specific emphasis on input/seed data and forecasting accuracy measurements and improvements.
- Interpreting key data available from a range of sources to produce recommendations to assist in the making of key business decisions.
- Working closely with the Commercial and Finance teams to develop and implement a coherent revenue strategy.
- Leading, training, motivating and developing revenue team-members in the Commercial directorate.
- Being a key liaison with Marketing/Retail/Digital teams to determine tactical activities and providing commercial expertise in any planning decisions.
- Ensuring the booking horizon system is maintained, and that Advance tickets are available for sale as soon as the timetable is published.
- Providing expert input into the industry development pathway for Revenue Management and Reservations Service with a view to maximising total rail revenue.
- Undertaking project work in relation to fares, retailing and revenue management systems, including specifying, deploying, and testing new system developments.
- Deputising for the Head of Retail Strategy and attending business/industry forums as required.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, candidates need to demonstrate the below in their application:
- Significant experience in a Revenue Management post in a highly commercially focused environment.
- This should include knowledge and relevant experience of revenue management tools and systems, gained from positions in rail/airline/ferry/coach/car hire revenue management teams.
- To be highly numerate and IT systems literate.
- To be able to make strategic revenue impacting decisions, working independently and/or as part of a closeknit team.
- To be able to build business cases for change.
- Have excellent knowledge of MS Office, including expert-level Excel.
- Have excellent organisational skills.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to present and communicate numerical information in a straightforward and compelling manner to a wide audience.
- Have good problem-solving skills.
- Be an influential decision maker.
- Be competent with system-based tools.
- Have a proactive approach to learning.
